Welcome Back.

Here are some of the things that I want to do this year.

I want to stop taking everything so seriously. I have the wild and wonderous habit of taking life too seriously which leads to me overthinking and then the overthinking leads to zero action. Can we say neurospicyyyyy. Anyway, I want to see what life would look like if I stopped hesitating for the sake of other people.

I want to get back into reading. Last year was a hilarious year for reading. I think I finished 11 books? If that? But I enjoyed all the books I read which is definitely saying something. So my goal this year is to reach for books more than I reach for my phone. Because the amount of time I spend doom scrolling's really not it. It is the year of the book! I do declare!

I want to fall back in love with photography again and start doing more self-portraits, shoot more film and just enjoy the whole process more again. I want to start shooting different styles of photography. I want to venture more into the art of documentary-style photography and really just enjoy this thing I love so much again. Taking it so seriously kind of ruined it for me. Which is quite hilarious when you think about it. But it is what it is.

I want to say yes this year. Without question. I want to say yes to the things that come my way. My belief is that if it was meant for you it will come and if not then saying yes won’t change the outcome. So what is the harm in saying yes? It is about that open-handed living. Where things can come and go with ease, whenever they are meant too.

I want to write more consistently this year regardless of whether people will read it or not. I just want to write to get better. Write to meet myself.

I want to put more effort into the things that bring me joy and I want to do them without shame. Because I do not have the time for shame and I am too old to care what anyone else thinks about what brings me joy.

So in honour of these goals, welcome back to the dinner table.

Where we talk about anything and everything that you could bring up at the dinner table. Life, men, books, travel, films, music, grocery prices, holistic healthcare, the weather, work. Who knows what else? How does that saying go again? “Jack of all trades, master of none, though oftentimes better than master of one”. I think it’s time we let this place be the dinner table full of the Jack of all trades. No pressure, just ease and whatever conversation you want to bring to a table full of friends at dinner.
